As one of the few winners of the CHANGE THE WORLD Scholarship, Founder Moises Barbera was invited to New York to spend a whole week talking at the Model United Nations.
Because of his background and the achievements showcased through Drill Surgeries, the topic up for discussion was:
"Building back better from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development."
In his words:
Words have the potential to shape ideas on whoever is listening, and an idea is the first route to generate action and hence, change!
What I’ve learnt during this past year is, using my existing pitching experience in the startup world, to address governments and defend the views of nations, I learnt to read better the different geopolitical situations and how to use these to generate change/collaborations/common benefits…
Spending this time in New York opened many doors for collaboration with brilliant individuals from all over the world, including surgeons that shared their thoughts on the work we do at Drill Surgeries.
To culminate this New York UN event, Moises had a chance to spend time with former president of the United States Bill Clinton, who shared how HEALTHCARE and the use of the latest technologies such as Artificial Intelligence should be at the forefront of our conversations to lead to a better world.
